A new institute dedicated to microfluidics in the heart of Paris

Twice awarded by the 2009 EQUIPEX and LABEX PSL, the Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Institute (IPGG) was inaugurated in March 2016 by the French President, François Hollande, and Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo. The IPGG’s ambition is to become a global leader in microfluidic fundamental research and its applications. The project is stemming from 4 prestigious research centers, namely the ESPCI, Institut Curie, Chimie Paris-Tech and ENS, bringing together 15 research teams and more than 200 research workers.

The 550m² IPGG technological platform offers all the last technologies dedicated to the conception, fabrication and characterization of microfluidic devices. The platform was labelled as Unité Mixte de Service of CNRS (UMS3750) in January 2016 and is one of the five clean rooms from the SBPC network in Paris.

In April 2016, the technological platform was labelled as Templin Carnot IPGG.
